Win with Your Bin Contest
Tips for a Winning Bin
Do include:
• Flattened cardboard
• Glass jars
• Metal Cans & Foil
• "Narrow neck" plastic bottles with a 1 or 2 symbol
• Newspaper & mixed paper
Do NOT include:
• Milk or juice cartons
• Plastic bags
• Styrofoam
• Plastic or metal lids or caps
• Any food contaminated items
For those who have entered our Win with Your Bin contest, remember the contest continues until May 25th. Make sure your bin is set out on your normal collection day by 7 a.m. and check to be sure it is properly prepared. Keep in mind that caps should be removed from all bottles, and there should be no plastic bags in your bin. Memorial Day Reminder
A reminder that curbside recycling will not be collected on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2007. All collections this week will be delayed one day.
School Recycling
The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded CVWMA a $10,000 grant to fund a pilot recycling program in 18 local schools. Recycling service will be provided for two years beginning in Fall 2007. For more details and an application, follow this link to our website.
